An overnight weekend camping trip during the dates of August 2nd-4th. This trip will take place in the Arkansas River valley where we will camp alongside and paddle the Arkansas River. Food, transportation, and instruction included.
The difficulty of the river stretch for each session is detailed to the skill of the group as well as the current river levels. The maximum difficulty Alpine Kayak Club will train on is class 3+ rapids.
Club members will receive club shirts at the beginning of the season and an end-of-season cookout to reflect on an amazing season!
An additional rental fee for the season allows access to all of our kayaks and equipment throughout the season during the session dates. The only equipment not included in the rental fee that is still required for each session is a dry top.
Club sessions occur from 4:30 to 8:00 pm on Thursdays starting on May 23rd. Following GoPro Games sessions will continue on Thursdays 4:00 to 7:30pm. There will be no session offered on July 4th, July 16th, or August 20th due to holiday/overnight programs by Alpine Kayak. Two sessions will be hosted during the weekend of August 2nd and 3rd on the Arkansas river during the club overnight trip. Once school resumes, sessions go back 4:30 - 8:00pm with our last session on September 5th. A club cook out will be hosted on Thursday, September 12th to reflect on the Summer of paddling.
