Alpine Kayak Club's mission is to provide a safe space where local Eagle County teens can cultivate lifelong whitewater kayaking skills and connect with peers and coaches on local rivers in Eagle County.
Club members receive a 5-session punch pass that can be used at any of the available sessions throughout the summer based on their schedule. With 10 sessions offered over the summer, members who are away for part of the season will still have plenty of opportunities to paddle when they return.
Most paddle sessions occur on Thursday evenings, with the first session on May 21st and the last session on August 13th. Each Monday before a session, an email will be sent to club members with details on which stretch of river we'll be paddling and the meet-up location. Please respond to confirm your attendance for that session. Pick-up and drop-off locations vary throughout the spring and summer, but will most often be at Battle Mountain High School.
The difficulty of the river stretch for each session is tailored to the skill level of the confirmed group and current river conditions. Alpine Kayak Club trains on rapids up to class 3.
An additional seasonal rental fee provides access to all our kayaks and equipment throughout the session dates. The only required item not included in the rental fee is a dry top for colder weather and water conditions.
Club members must be at least 13 years of age and live in Eagle County or neighboring counties.
Club sessions run from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday evenings, beginning May 21st and ending August 13th.
